And the winner is...?

The annual Tony Awards are named in honour of Antoinette Perry, an American actress, stage director and philanthropist.   Throughout her adult life, Perry was a fixture of New York’s theatre scene, a renowned perfectionist, and a consummate professional.  She passed away suddenly in 1946 at the height of her career, and the Tony Awards were launched a year later as the industry’s way to honour Perry’s memory and to celebrate distinguished achievement in theatre.

Each year, for a three-year term, the Tony Awards Nominating Committee members have to sit through every Broadway production staged (even the dodgy ones).  Then they convene, immediately after the Tony eligibility deadline, and make their final nominations.
Swoon!  NYC loves Hugh.

Earlier this week the press announced that Australia's own Hugh Jackman will return to host the Tonys in 2014.  Hugh hasn't helmed the show since 2005, so we'll definitely need to tune in this year.
