Flipping the burgers and shaking the fries

Leave it to the United States to designate the first week of May as National Burger Week.  Since 2011, burger joints and restaurants across the country have pulled out all the stops to offer gourmet blends and off-menu specialities that pay tribute to the mighty hamburger.  God Bless America!

In 2013, New York City sites really stepped up to the grill plate, and offered a range of tasty treats and specials.  If burgers and whiskey weren’t your thing, you could try burgers and bowling, or burgers and beer pairings instead!

But for a truly unique burger experience in New York, at any time of year, you need to visit what has become our worst-kept secret.  Tucked behind a heavy velvet curtain in the lobby of the fancy Le Parker Meridien Hotel is a greasy burger joint!  With no signage, limited seating, questionable service, and a cash-only policy, customers still line up out the door for generous helpings of burgers and fries that are all made to order.  Delicious!
